Mr.Jo
Welcome to my website!
My name is József Béres, also known as Mr.Jo.
I originally come from Kazincbarcika, a small town in Hungary, where my passion for art began at a very young age. In fact, I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, starting back in kindergarten.
With the encouragement and support of my parents, I attended an art school where I explored various forms of fine art, including drawing, painting, and other creative disciplines. I later graduated with outstanding results, gaining qualifications in electronic graphics, image and publication design, and video technology.
My journey into tattooing began when I got my first tattoo at the age of 15 or 16. I immediately fell in love with the art form, and by the age of 18, I had started teaching myself how to tattoo.
What started as a fascination quickly became a lifelong passion.
For the past 15 years, tattooing has been a huge part of my everyday life. I've dedicated countless hours to developing my skills, exploring different techniques, and continuously pushing myself creatively.
I spent the first few years of my career in Hungary. After approximately four years, an incredible opportunity came along, and I made the decision to move to London.
There, together with an amazing group of friends, we established One Day Tattoo Studio, a place that became a significant part of my personal and professional journey. For nearly nine years, I was proud to be part of the team, helping shape the studio and growing alongside some incredibly talented artists.
After my years in London, I moved to Manchester, where I spent the next two years working at North of Winter Tattoo Collective, continuing to develop my artistic approach and working on a wide variety of creative projects.
And now, another exciting chapter begins.
Together with a close friend and his wife, we're bringing a new private tattoo studio to life in Todmorden, called Tetko.
It's a fresh beginning, built on years of experience, friendship, creativity, and a shared passion for tattooing.
After all these years, my passion for creating art is just as strong as it was when I first picked up a pencil.
Apply for a Tattoo ProjectThe Process
Apply
Fill out the project application. The more detail the better: reference images, placement, size, your ideas. I read every submission personally.
Consultation
If the project is a fit, we'll have a conversation, in person or over video. I want to understand the feeling behind the piece, not just what it looks like.
Design
I design in the week before your session. I don't sketch months in advance. Fresh work produces better work. You'll see the design on the day.
Session
We tattoo. Depending on the scale, this might be one session or several. I'll walk you through aftercare before you leave.
Got a project in mind?
